In Teignmouth the centre around the seafront, known as the Den, is the location for a new children’s play park, mini-golf course and grassed area. There are cafes, restaurants and takeaways to suit every budget and preference too.
The pier is home to beach shops and amusements with rides for smaller children. The beach itself is great for building sandcastles and playing in the water. If you fancy a swim, Teignmouth is also home to a Lido at one end of the promenade which is heated.
In the area there are many family attractions within a short drive too. Teignmouth is only a few miles away from Torquay along the coastline which is home to many attractions including Living Coasts, Babbacombe Model Village and the Hi-Flyer balloon. And then there is Paignton a few miles further on which is home to Paignton Zoo and the steam railway to Dartmouth.
In the other direction, a few miles away is Dawlish Warren which is home to a larger fun park and is only a few minutes away on the train.
And finally not forgetting Shaldon Wildlife Trust, the smallest zoo in the South West. Located in Shaldon on the opposite banks of the River Teign Estuary, it is home to varied collection of animals including pygmy marmosets, lemurs and meercats, all in a picturesque woodland setting.
